Discord, a messaging platform popular with gamers, says official photos of about 70,000 users have potentially expired after cyber-attack.
The platform, which has more than 200 million users worldwide, says the hackers have focused on a company that helped to check the age of its users, but the discord itself has not been broken.
People can provide personal photos to check their age on Discord, a network player center to talk and share files with others in the games community.

Full credit card data, passwords or messages and out of talk with Discord customer support agents have leaked, the company said.
All affected users have been in contact and Discord works with the law enforcement agencies, he added.
The platform said it had canceled the access of the customer supplier to the system aimed at the violation. Discord did not specify the participating company of third parties.
Zendesk representative, a Discord customer service provider, told the BBC that its systems were not compromised and that the violation was not caused by vulnerability within its platform.
Some online commentators claim that data breach is more than discord.
A Discord spokesman told the BBC that these claims were inaccurate and “part of the experience of extortion of payment”.
“We will not reward those responsible for their illegal actions,” the spokesman added.
Cybercriminals often target personal data that can command a high black market price for use in fraud.
Information such as full names and official ID numbers is particularly valuable, since unlike credit card data, it usually remains unchanged over time.
