Original digitone One of my favorite synts. To someone who can come a bit as a backhand praise because the good, the digitone is not just a syntha. It is a powerful multimbral grovebox with one of the most versatile sequencers in the market. To me, its four tracks and the eight vocals of polyphony may feel a bit limited. Plus it’s not the best of the drums. It managed me to stick to digitone on a stand where I just behaved like a desktop synty controlled by an MIDI keyboard.
At least the second digitone on paper seems to solve some of these problems. It now has 16 voices on 16 tracks, as well as three completely new syntha engines that extend its sound palette, including fully dedicated to the park. In addition to the same sequenceing, modulation and filter improvement we have already seen in Digital II (8/10, the wired proposed) But just like its sample-based siblings, Digitone II has a significant price increased to $ 999. The original is now in the market used in a small amount of $ 350, the choice between the two is cut and not dry.

Before anyone is terrified, the four-operator FM engine from the original digitone is still here. Even though I have seen some people that it doesn’t sound exactly the same and the root has a bit more deadly and character, I think these people are doing hallucining. I loaded a number of presets designed for the original digitone in Digitone II and I can’t say the difference between them. It is worth mentioning that, sadly, you cannot load digitone II presets in the original digitone, even if they use the original FM sound engine. Obviously there are some technical differences between them at the bottom of the hood but at least in my ears they don’t seem to affect the word.

The other three synth engines where digitone II really distinguishes itself from the root. In addition to the original FM engine (the new model is called FM tone), there are FM drums, which tweeted the original sound engine to make the park a better suit. Wavetone is somewhat less glassed and similar words you find in phase deformity and wavelength synts are found. It is still steadily digital, but not as strict as FM. Then there is Swarma, which gives you the sound of the ultra-ancestry, which is great for lead and limbs by stacking six detunted rockers at the top of the main one. Many of my favorite new presets use the waveton machine great, which is capable of copying the Classic Electro and Koutroke words with the incision.
