Prince Rahim Al-Husaya has been declared the new aga Khan, the spiritual leader of millions of Shiite Muslims around the world.
He will take on the role of his father Prince Karim Aga Khan, who died on Tuesday at the age of 88.
The appointment has been appointed after Prince Karim Aga Khan’s will has been printed, according to a message from the Aga Khan Development Network.
Prince Rahim al-Husaine aga Khan V will be the 50th hereditary I have of Muslims Ismaili, who say they are direct MPs of the Prophet Mohammed.
Ismailis are a Shiite Muslim sect that honors a number of imams, including Immail, who died in 765 AD.
They have a worldwide population of about 15 million, including 500,000 in Pakistan.
In India, Afghanistan and parts of Africa there is a large population.
Prince Karim Aga Khan inherited his grandfather by having the Muslims Ismaili in 1957 at the age of 20.
He died surrounded by a family in Lisbon, Portugal, the Aga Han Development Network reported.
