Why is Google Maps renamed the Gulf of Mexico?

The Gulf of Mexico was renamed the Gulf of Google Maps in the United States.

This comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order to rename water body, bordered by the US, Cuba and Mexico. This meant that US government agencies should change it, but other countries and companies did not have to follow the example. So why Google made the switch?
