Aeronautical company in the United States has released footage showing a conceptual version of its flying car, making vertical take -off before flying over SUV.

Jim Spiritual, CEO of Alef Aeronautics, told the senior BBC technology reporter Chris Valence that he has thousands of pre -orders and hopes to start production within 12 months.

For about $ 300,000 (237,000 British pounds), the company says buyers will receive an electric flying car with an estimated air range of 110 km (68 miles). But taking a spin friend can be complicated – the cockpit has enough space for one and a half people.

As Valrance points out, Alef Aeronautics are not the only ones trying to get flying cars to take off with buyers, but there are huge technological and regulatory obstacles to overcome.
