Avride pavement bot will start ordering restaurants and grocery in Central Tokyo this week by partnership with e-commerce giant Rakuten, the latest commercial expansion of Yandex spinout in Northeast Asia.
Austin-based autonomous vehicle startup is one of the four projects under a Netherlands-based company Nebias group that is previously called Yandex NV Sells the Russian business About 5.2 billion dollars in 2024.
Since then, Avride has moved to the development of autonomous vehicles through its footwear bot and self-driving cars. And it has made progress, especially with Uber and now in agreement with big corporations like Rakuten in Japan.
