For the third consecutive week, Pope Francis failed to personally deliver his traditional Angeles prayer, and instead the Vatican published his written comments.
The Vatican said the text sent from his hospital room in Rome was written “in the last few days”. In it, the Pope thanked the people for their prayers and thanked his medical team for their care.
“I feel in my heart the” blessing “, which is hidden within the fragility, because it is at these moments that we learn to trust the Lord even more,” he writes.
“At the same time, I thank God for giving me the opportunity to share in the body and spirit the condition of so many sick and suffering people.”
The Pope told Catholics around the world that he was feeling their “love and closeness”.
“I feel as if I’m” worn “and supported by all the people of God. Thank you all!” The text is read.
The last update from the Vatican said that Pope Francis rests after a “calm” night.
On Sunday morning, according to the Vatican, “the Pope woke up, had breakfast with coffee, continued his therapy, and read the newspapers as she usually does.”
The Pope received two visitors to Gemeli Hospital on Sunday – the first external visitors that the Vatican mentioned from last Monday.
Once again, it was the Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Parine and his deputy, Monsignor Pena Pena, who saw Pope Francis in his hospital room on the 10th floor. There are no details about the length of time spent with him or what was discussed.
On Friday, the Pope suffered a second breathing “crisis”, after which he received additional oxygen maintenance – but he was not intubated.
By Saturday evening, the Vatican describes its condition as stable, without fever and more “crises” with its breathing. They told him he was “vigilant” and was eating normally.
On his Sunday, Angelus Pope also prays for peace, including in “tortured Ukraine, Palestine, Israel,” adding: “From here the war looks even more abasure.”
On Sunday, visitors to the Vatican usually gather on St. Peter’s Square to see the Pope appear on a window high up into the apostolic palace in the official papal apartment.
However, Francis does not live there, choosing the easier atmosphere of the Vatican Guest House Santa Martha.
