The mother of a six -year -old girl who disappeared more than a year ago in South Africa, went to court, accused of organizing her abduction.

Kelly Smith, her friend Jacques Apalis and their friend Stephen van Rin were arrested after Smith’s daughter Joshlin disappeared outside her home in Saldana Bay, near Cape Town, in February last year.

Joshlin’s disappearance sent shock waves to South Africa, and despite the highly advertised search for it, it is yet to be found.

All three admitted that they were not guilty of allegations of human trafficking and abduction.

Initially, Da Smith said that Joshlin had disappeared after leaving the young girl in the care of G -n -Apolis.

Later, prosecutors accused her of “sold, delivered or exchanging” the six-year-old and lied to her disappearance.

Then there was an intense and wide demand for the young girl, but the attention soon turned to Mrs. Smith after her friend and former accomplice Lorenthia Lombaard became a state witness, according to the South Africa news news site.

Her search even attracted the interest of the Minister of Sport Gayton McKenzi, who offered a prize of one million Rand (42,500 pounds; $ 54,000) for her safe return.

The process will continue from March 3-28 at the Saldana Multifunctional Center, which has been adjusted in the Supreme Court specifically in the case.

A judge chairing the case earlier this year explained that the location was selected to “ensure that the community has access” to the production during the marathon process.
