G -N Aminudeen said any “disrespect” for Ramadan would not be condescending.

“It is heartfelt that in such a post for fasting, elderly Muslims will be seen to eat and drink publicly. We will not justify ourselves, so we went out to make arrests,” he said.

He said all 25 were charged with a Sharia court and would be punished respectively.

The Heisbah employee added that they sometimes receive advice when people see each other.

“We receive calls from people who are angry after seeing people eating in public and acting quickly by going to the area to arrest.”

He also confirmed the arrest of other people who were seen with “inappropriate hairstyles”, wearing shorts above the knee and tricycles, mixing male and female passengers.

Last year, those arrested for non -starvation were released after promising to fast, while the relatives or guardians of some of them were summoned and ordered them to watch them to make sure they quickly.

The arrested this year was not so lucky that they would have to face the court.

Just over two decades ago, Sharia or Islamic law was introduced to work with secular law in 12 of the northern states of Nigeria, who have a majority of Muslim population. The Sharis does not apply to Christian minorities living in the United States.
