The Sambi Sambi School is crowned the winner of the famous Rio de Janeiro Carnival Parade Parade Parade.

A thousand gathered at the giant sambadrome arena in the city to watch the top 12 Samba schools fight for this year’s title.

Beija-Flor was crowned Wednesday’s winner for the 15th time, closely defeating the second ranked Grande Rio.

His performance was a tribute to his late director Louis Fernando Ribeiro to Karmo, better known as Laela, who died in June 2021 with Covid-19.

While the all-encompassing theme of the Beki Floro parade was a tribute to his late director, she also included floats with pyrotechnic displays and dancers dressed as devils.

Performances are evaluated over 10 categories according to a total of 40 judges.

One of the best 12 samba schools competing for the title was Paraíso Do Tuiuti, whose dancers parade in stormy feathers.
