At least one person was killed and three injured in a “massive” drone attack overnight against Moscow and the capital, local officials say.
Regional governor Andrei Vorobiv says that the victims were in the cities of Vidia and Domodedovo, just outside the capital. Seven apartments in an apartment building were damaged.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobianin says 73 drones targeted at the city have been removed. The roof of a building was damaged by the remains of drones.
A train network area has already been halted and the flight restrictions are available at Airports in Moscow after the attack – one of the largest since Russia began a full -scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
The attack comes only hours in front of A crisis meeting between US and Ukraine representatives in Saudi Arabia, Focused on the termination of the war between Russia and Ukraine.
In a publication on social media, governor Vorobiv publishes photos that are alleged to show one of the damaged apartments and burned vehicles in what looked like a parking lot in the Moscow area.
He said that 12 people – including three children – must be evacuated by their damaged apartments after the strike overnight.
The flight restrictions were imposed on Moscow airports Sheremetyevo, Domodedovo and Grandkovo – large transport centers used by millions of passengers every year.
Later, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the total 337 Ukrainian drones were either captured or destroyed overnight in Moscow and nine other Russian regions.
Ukraine has not commented on the issue.
At night, Ukrainian officials report Russian drone attacks against the capital Kiev and several other regions.
It was not clear immediately whether there were casualties.
