One Photographer’s Quest to Redefine the Shark

Spread the love

I expected to meet a horrible “man-eter”, but when I saw it I realized that it was a protective animal, I was more afraid of me than me. This moment arouses my curiosity and I have decided to know more about the sharks. I traveled to the island in Guadalap on the coast of Mexico to see great white sharks and I took a small point-and-shoot camera with me. When I was able to take a picture of a great white shark, I realized that the camera was more than a tool, it was a way to reach my goal to meet the sharks.

The movies have reduced the shark to one or two details for many people: they are horrible and insatiable. What do you learn from being with them and why do you protect them?

From a very young age I dreamed of diver because my parents were different. When my mother died at the age of just one year, my father used to tell me about the sharks about me and tell him about his adventure. He said they were bad. When I saw the movie when I was seven years old Jaw, And I am attracted to the character of scientist matte hoper. In the end, when the shark destroys the boat, the hoper enters a cage, the shark breaks it and everyone assumes that he must have been eaten, but in the end he is alive. Immediately after seeing the picture, we went to a beach in Taxpan, Veracruz, in the eastern Mexican state. My father bought some dead sharks from a fisherman and I played it on the beach with my half brothers. These moments lead to my love for sharks. For me, living beside the animals is my safe place. Only then does I feel calm, when I am really myself. I feel free to feel comfortable.

Wired how overfishing reached the deep sea, threatened to covered with threat Ray And sharks. With these animals you face 20 years, have you seen their population changes and what is the impact in our ocean what is the first hand witness?

I have seen two events. In the Caribbean region, Rivira did not go too far from my house near Kozumel Island on the coast of Mayer, once more life. But I have also seen places like Kabo Pulmo in Doga, California, where there were almost no sharks 20 years ago, and now it is meeting them. When the sharks are naturally present, one supports the population and without feeding them, it is a symptom that the ecosystem is healthy. They have created a protected area in the Kabo Pulmo, which has become the point of hope. These regions do not have enough quantities, but there you can find the entire food chain from sharks to small Plancton. When you remove the sharks, the whole ecosystem becomes imbalanced.

Recently, I have seen more dead and bleached corals and this is very sad.
