American nuclear weapons in Poland would be “deterrent” for Russia

President of Poland Andrzej Duda repeated his call for the United States to establish nuclear weapons on Polish soil.

At the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, he told me that it would make Poland stronger and more fucked as it collided with Russia.

Seen from Poland, Russia of President Putin is a clear and present danger.

President Duda, who is also a commander -in -chief of the fast -growing Polish armed forces, said today’s Russia is at least as aggressive as the former Soviet Union.

He condemned what he called Moscow’s imperial greed.

The positioning of nuclear weapons in Poland will be considered by President Putin as a provocation.

But President Duda views the proposal as a defensive measure to strengthen deterrence.

He said this would be a response to President Putin’s decision in 2023 to deploy Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, which has a border with Poland and Ukraine.

“This is the same Russia that attacks Ukraine today, which is an aggressor that kills civilians who bombard civil settlements,” he told me.

“And he moves his nuclear weapons from Russia’s depths to Belarus.”

“This defensive tactic is a vital response to Russia’s behavior, moving nuclear weapons to NATO. Poland is ready to host this nuclear weapon.”

President Duda also welcomes proposals made by French President Emmanuel Macron to expand the umbrella of French nuclear weapons to other NATO countries.

The United States is already spinning about 10,000 soldiers at a time through Poland.

Asked how the presence of nuclear weapons would make Poland more fierce, Duda said that it would deepen America’s commitment to Polish security.

“Every strategic type of infrastructure, American and NATO infrastructure we have on our soil strengthens the US and the Northern Atlantic Union to defend the territory.”

Poland spends almost 5% of its national defense income. This is more than any other NATO member, including the United States.

Last week, Poland Prime Minister Donald Tusk made a speech in parliament, warning that a “deep change in American geopolitics” puts both Poland and Ukraine in a “objective situation”.

Prime Minister Tusk has called for a more increasing increase in the defense costs of the Polish defense and suggested that Poland consider reaching “nuclear weapons.”

D -Tusk is to the left of the center, unlike President Duda, who is on the right and considers himself a friend of Donald Trump.

Referring to President Putin’s refusal on Thursday to agree immediately to the 30-day cessation of fire in Ukraine, Mr. Duda said he was confident that the president of the United States had a plan, as he said, “to encourage the Russian side to act reasonably.”

Duda will not criticize the Trump, nor accept that his actions and words have raised doubt in the US commitment to Article 5, the mutual defense clause of the Northern Atlantic Treaty.

But he has many more war words about Russia on Putin than Donald Trump has ever used.

And he supports the calls for the EU to seize Russian assets worth about 200 billion euros, which are frozen in European banks.

“I believe it is obvious that Russian assets collected and locked in banks in Western Europe should be used to support Ukraine and this should be double support,” he says.

“First of all, Ukraine must be supported to defend itself against Russian aggression. And secondly, this should be used to support the restoration of Ukraine.”

“I cannot imagine that after the destruction of Ukraine, Russia can simply take that money without paying wars reparations and compensation.”
