Passengers seen on the wing of the plane after the jet ignited

The passengers were evacuated from a US flight to American Airlines after the aircraft lit up at Denver International Airport on Thursday.

The footage shows that the smoke is twisted by the aircraft and passengers standing on the wing of the aircraft.

There are no reports of serious injuries, although later the airport confirmed that 12 people had been taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

The flight took off from nearby Colorado Springs and was on the way to Dallas Fort Worth in Texas International Airport, FAA told a statement to the BBC.

The plane diverted to Denver around 17:15 local time (23:15 GMT) after the crew reported “engine vibrations,” FAA said.
