Yemen’s death issue has increased to 53, including five children, Huti’s Rebels said.
US said it started “decisively and powerful” Airblack Huthi Targets on Saturday, with President Donald Trump pointing to Houthi’s attacks against shipping in the Red Sea as a cause.
Washington said some key figures of Huti were among the dead, but the group did not confirm this.
Huti Abdul leader Malik Al Huti said his fighters would target US ships in the Red Sea as long as the United States continued to attack Yemen.
Upon updating earlier death, Huth’s Ministry of Health spokesman Anis Al-Asbai published on X that 53 people had been killed, including “five children and two women” and that 98 were injured.
One father of two who gave his name as Ahmed, told the news agency AFP: “I have been living in Sana for 10 years, hearing firing throughout the war. From God, I have never experienced anything like that.”
US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz told ABC News that Saturday strikes “headed for many Huti leaders and pulled them out.”
He told Fox News: “We just hit them with great force and noticed Iran notice that it was enough.”
US Secretary of Defense Pete Heget has promised a “relentless” rocket campaign until Huti’s attacks stop.
“I want to be very clear that this campaign is about the freedom of navigation and restoration of deterrence,” Heget said in a television interview with Fox Business.
The Hutists said it would continue to head to the shipping of the Red Sea until Israel lifted its blockade from the gas and that its forces would respond to the blows.
Iran -backed rebels, who considers Israel his enemy, controls Sana and the northwest of Yemen, but this is not an internationally recognized government of the country.
The Hutists said they were acting in support of the Palestinians in the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza and claimed – often false – that they were targeted only to ships related to Israel, the United States or the United Kingdom.
Since November 2023, Huti has been targeting dozens of commercial vessels with rockets, drones and small boat attacks in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. They have sank two ships, seized others and killed four crew members.
EPABy announcing the strikes on Saturday, Trump said that “we will use enormous deadly power until we reach our goal.”
“Funded by Iran, Huti’s thugs have fired rockets in US planes and directed our troops and allies,” Trump said on social media, adding that their “piracy, violence and terrorism” have been worth “billions” and are at risk of life.
Turning directly to Huti, Trump wrote that if they don’t stop, “hell will rain on you like nothing you’ve seen so far.”
But Hutiis is steadfast in their response, saying that aggression will not reduce their support for the Palestinians.
Iranian Abbas Aragchi Foreign Minister said the US government has no “no authority or business, dictating Iranian foreign policy.”
“End support for Israeli genocide and terrorism,” he published on X on Sunday. “Stop killing Yemeni people.”
Hutiis military spokesman said on Sunday, without suggesting evidence that the group is aimed at US aircraft carrier Uss Harry S. Truman and his warships in the Red Sea with ballistic missiles and drones in response to US attacks.
But an US employee told Reuters news agency that US military aircraft are taking down 11 Houthi drones on Sunday, none of which came close to Truman.
UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres, on Sunday, called for “Extreme Restriction and Termination of All Military Activities” in Yemen.
