The US court ordered Prince Harry’s immigration files to be announced by Tuesday.
District judge Carl Nichols ordered the release of documents on the basis of a request of freedom of information (FOI) from the Foundation of Inheritance, a conservative American cerebral trust in Washington.
The Foundation claims that the prince hid his last drug use, which should disqualify him to receive an American visa.
The accusations focus on the claims of the Duke of Sussex in his memoir, where he referred to taking cocaine, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms.
In the book, published in January 2023, Prince Harry writes that he first tried cocaine at the age of 17.
“It wasn’t much fun and didn’t make me very happy as it seemed to make everyone around me, but it made me feel different and that was the main goal,” he added.
He also writes about using marijuana, saying that “cocaine has done nothing for me,” but “marijuana is different, which actually really helped me.”
Application forms for us visas are specific to the current and past use of drugs.
Acceptance of drug use can lead to the rejection of non -migrant and immigrant visas visas, although immigration employees have discretion to make a final decision based on various factors.
The inheritance Foundation claims that Prince Harry has lied to drug use to US immigration authorities, which can lead to a lifetime ban from the United States.
The BBC contacted the White House and Duke’s office for comment.
The court’s decision comes after a 2024 Decision From the same judge who said he did not have enough public interest in revealing Prince Harry’s immigration records.
The inheritance Foundation challenged the decision and insisted that the decision be changed.
Prince Harry moved to the United States with his wife Megan in 2020 after withdrawing as a working king. It is not clear what a visa he has entered the country while the Duchess is a US citizen.
President Donald Trump has earlier excluded Prince Harry’s deportation in February, telling the New York Post “I will leave him alone … He has enough problems with his wife. She is terrible.”
Megan was a vowed critic of Trump in the past, labeling him a “misogynist”.
