The five parts that tried to rebrand as NJZ announced during a show at Complexcon Hong Kong on Sunday that “this will be our last performance for a little while” after debuting its new song song.

The court’s decision on Friday forbade the band from organizing their own appearances, making music, or signing advertising deals during their ADOR dispute.

Newjeans seek to reduce their ador ties after being accused of abuse and saying they would challenge the court’s ruling.

The group was involved in a long dispute with their recording label from August 2024, when Hybe, the Mother of the Mother of Ador, was supposedly forced the mentor of Newjeans, Min Hi-Jin.

The group issued an ultimatum demanding that Min be restored – and when Haib refused, it became publicly available with a number of complaints against the label, including the allegation that they intentionally undermined their careers.

One of the group members, Hani, also claims that She underwent harassment at work while working with the label.

At a press conference in November, Newjeans announced their departure from the company, saying that Hybe and Ador had lost their right to present them as artists.

The Seoul court ruled that Nikudeans’ claims did not “prove enough that Ador violated their significant obligation as part of his contract”, adding that the music label maintained “the greater part of her obligation, including payment.”

The court’s decision does not allow the group to carry out independent activities, which means that it will face reversing difficulties under their new name, NJZ, without being faced with severe financial penalties for breaching the contract.

The Hong Kong concert on Sunday night celebrated the band’s first public appearance after the decision.

After debuting their new song, five members Minghi, Hani, Daniel, Hairerin and Hein alternate to read a letter targeting their fans in English and Korean.

“This stage means so much to us and every one of you who only gives us strength as we are here,” Hani and Danny said.

“It’s really hard for us to say this, but this may be our last presentation for a little while. Out of respect for the court’s decision, we decided to stop all our activities so far.

“This was not an easy solution,” they added, “but we believe this is something we have to do at this moment.”

The group also said the decision was “to protect ourselves so that we can go back even more.”

“We had to talk to protect the values ​​we believe in, and it was a choice we didn’t regret at all,” they added.

“We certainly believe that upholding our dignity, our rights and everything that interests us deeply is something we had to do and this faith will not change.”

The speech ended a one-hour headliner placed in front of a crowd of over 11,000 Asiaworld Expo Arena fans, the largest live music place in Hong Kong.

The group introduced themselves under their new name NJZ, seemingly a challenge to the decision last week.

In a statement on Monday, Ador stated that “they regret the members’ decision to continue executing under a name other than Newjeans, despite the court order and their unilateral announcement of suspension of activities.”

“Ador is fully committed to supporting Newjeans, in accordance with the terms of our legally valid exclusive contract,” they added. “We hope to meet the artists as soon as possible to discuss the way forward.”

Newjeans is considered one of the brightest new groups in K-POP and were the eighth best-selling act in the world in 2023.
