Wemo said on Tuesday that it would start giving Robotaxi rides through the Washington DC in 2026.
Before it is launched commercially, the company has to make up its lobbying game on the capital, where the permission of autonomous vehicles still needs a human being behind the cycle.
The news from the Wemo came when the alphabet owned company aggressively expanded its robotuxi coverage to move forward in front of potential competitors like Amazon’s Zoo and Elon Mask’s Tesla. Kasturi said Tesla would launch a robotuxi service in Austin this summer and at one point this year in California.

To raise more enthusiasm and awareness, Wemo says that Las Vegas, San Diego and Monday are planning to start mapping in 10 cities this year, including Nashville.
