WhatsApp Opened Friday is a new feature, where users can include short music clips in their status update, reminding the Myspace Age.
Status is similar to Instagram’s story and lets users share photos, videos and texts that disappear after 24 hours. When creating a new status, users can tap a music note icon to choose from millions of available songs. They may post up to 15 seconds for photos and up to 60 seconds music clips for videos.
The introduction of music clips launches a similar capacity on Instagram by following the parent company meta, where users can add songs Profile, NoteAnd post.
WhatsApp features are the same, but with a key difference: the music shared from the end to the end is encrypted to the end, which means only friends can see the songs. WhatsApp itself does not see the songs that users can share.
WhatsApp has begun to roll out the new feature worldwide and will continue to extend the availability over the weeks.
