The Israeli air strike in the southern suburbs of Beirut killed at least three people, says Lebanon Health Ministry, putting additional pressure on a fragile ceasefire between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah.

The attack was the second in the area known as Dahieh, where Hezbollah has a strong presence, in recent days, despite the armistice that came into force in November.

The Israeli military said it was aimed at a Hezbollah operator, which helped Hamas plan an attack on Israeli civilians. There was no reaction from Hezbollah.

Lebanon President Joseph Aun has condemned the strike, calling him a dangerous warning.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam said it was a “gross violation” of the cessation of fire.

The impact happened in the middle of the night, without warning, and the images of the scene show that the best three floors of an apartment building were damaged.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israeli Security Agency (ISA) said in a statement that the military was conducting a strike in Dahie.

The Israeli military said it was aimed at a Hezbollah operator, who “has recently directed Hamas’s operations and assisted them in planning a significant and immediate terrorist attack on Israeli civilians.”

“Due to the immediate threat,” the military said that “he acted to eliminate him and eliminated the threat.” The military added that “it would continue to act to prevent any threat represented by the civilians of the State of Israel.”

Thehe Israeli military said he had hit a drone storage department used by Hezbollah After two rockets were fired from south Lebanon to northern Israel.

Hezbollah said he did not participate in the rocket attack and remained committed to the cessation of fire and no other armed group took responsibility.

Despite the deal, Israel has committed close to daily air strikes on people and goals that he believes are connected to Hezbollah, saying that he acted to stop Hezbollane from incarnate. The Lebanon government says that these attacks and the perseverance of Israeli soldiers in five places in the southern Lebanon represent violations of the truce.

Hezbollah launched her campaign on the day after Hamas’s attacks against South Israel on October 7, 2023, saying he was acting in solidarity with the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

The long -standing conflict escalates and led to an intense Israeli air campaign in Lebanon and ground invasion of South Lebanon.

The offensive died about 4,000 people in Lebanon – including many civilians – and led to the displacement of more than 1.2 million inhabitants.

Israel’s stated goal in his war against Hezbollah was to allow the return of about 60,000 inhabitants who were displaced by the northern part of the country because of the group attacks and to remove it from the border areas.
