The military military announced a temporary termination of fire to accelerate efforts to relieve and reconstruction after the devastating earthquake last week.

In a statement, the Council of the State Administration of the ruling junta said the deal would be in force from April 2 to April 22.

Earlier this week, the rebels, who were fighting the military unilaterally, announced the cessation of fire to support efforts to help – the military refused to do the same until Wednesday announce.

At least 2886 people are now known to have been killed after a scale- 7.7 earthquake last Friday. Hundreds of people are still missing.

The earthquake also felt hundreds of kilometers in neighboring countries such as Thailand, where the death number of death is currently 21 years old.

Myanmar is covered by violence against the backdrop of a civil war between the junta – which seized power in a coup in 2021 and ethnic militias and resistance forces across the country.

Tuesday night, The military military opened fire in a Chinese convoy of the Red Cross, carrying an earthquake reserves.

The Taang National Liberation Army, an armed rebel group, said the military troops were shooting in the convoy of nine vehicles with machine guns in Eastern Shang.

The convoy was on the way to Mandalay, Stroke near the epicenter of the earthquake. No injuries have been reported.

The junta, which said he was investigating the incident, denied firing directly into vehicles. It says troops shoot shots in the air after the convoy did not stop, even though it was signaled.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that its rescue team and deliveries were safe, adding that he hoped “all factions and parties in Myanmar will prioritize efforts to facilitate the earthquake.”

Myanmar’s humanitarian crisis worsened significantly since the earthquake last week. It is believed that the actual number of deaths is much higher than the official data provided by the junta.

Numerous international agencies for assistance and foreign governments have sent staff and supplies to regions affected by earthquakes.

A military spokesman on Wednesday said the troops saw that the aid convoy came from the city of Naungcho on Tuesday night, with vehicles sports Chinese stickers and signs with Myanmar numbers, but did not receive prior notification of the vehicle movement.

“When we saw the convoy, we stopped it. But they continued. We opened a fire of about 200 meters, but they did not stop,” he said.

“We fired three shots in the air about 100 meters, after which the vehicles turned back to Naungcho.”

The Blue Sky Chinese Rescue Team, which provides rescue support in Mandalay, received a security cover when they were traveling on this route, the spokesman said.

He added that when international agencies want to provide help, they need to inform the Myanmar government.

Tnla, who escorted the Red Cross convoy, said they had informed the Mandalai Military Council.

After retiring to Naungcho, they will continue their journey, according to a group message.
