The commander of the US military base in Greenland was fired after reporting an email distant from the criticism of JD Vance Vice President to Denmark.

The Command of the Space Operations of the US military said Colonel Susanna Meyars had been removed from his duties at the Pitik space base because of “loss of confidence in its ability to lead.”

Last month, Vance used a trip to the Arctic Island to criticize Denmark – from which Greenland is a territory – for not spending no more on security in the region, claiming that it has “not done a good job for Greenland.

The alleged email, published by an American military news site, told staff that Vance’s comments “do not reflect” the base.

After the trip, on March 31, it is reported that Kohl Myers wrote: “I do not suppose to understand the current policy, but what I know is the concerns of the US administration discussed by Vice President Vance on Friday, they do not reflect Pitik’s space base.”

Military.com – email – said the content was confirmed so accurately by the US space force.

It seems to confirm that this is the reason for her dismissal, Pentagon’s chief spokesman Sean Parnel, linked to the military.com article in an X publication, writes: “Actions (which) undermine the command chain or undermine the President (Donald) The Trump program will not be tolerated in the Ministry of Defense.

Space Force’s statement announcing the removal of Col Meyers on Thursday is said to be Col shawn Lee replaces it.

He added: “Commanders are expected to adhere to the highest standards of behavior, especially as far as the remaining non -partisans remain in the fulfillment of their duties.”

During his vortex trip, Vance also repeated Trump’s desire to annex Greenland for security reasons.

After a visit to the US delegation, Greenland and Denmark showed a United Front, opposing the American annexation on the autonomous Danish territory.

Earlier this month, the official visit of the Danish Prime Minister Met Fredericksen saw that her stand was side by side with her colleague Greenland Jens-Frederick Nielsen and his predecessor, Mute Eggede.

Speaking to reporters, Fredericksen turned directly to Trump, telling him, “You can’t annex other countries.”

She added that Denmark strengthened its military presence in the Arctic and offered more cooperation with the United States in the protection of the region.

Greenland, the largest island in the world, has been under Danish control for about 300 years.

The polls show that the bigger part of Greenland wants to gain independence from Denmark – but they do not want to become part of the United States.

Greenland has the right to call a referendum on independence since 2009, although in recent years some political parties have begun to insist on a stronger man.
