A man who is wrongly deported from Maryland in Mega-Jal in El Salvador is “alive and secure,” an American employee told a judge.
The Kilmar Abrego Garcia location update came days after the Supreme Court ruled that the Trump administration should facilitate its release and return to the United States.
“My understanding, based on the official reporting by our Embassy in San Salvador, Abango Garcia is being held at the El Salvador Terrorism Center,” said State Department official Michael Kozak.
President Donald Trump should sit on Monday with his colleague from El Salvador, where he sent more than 200 migrants, claiming to be members of the gang.
The US government acknowledged that Mr Garcia was deported because of an “administrative mistake”, although he claims he was a member of the MS-13 gang, which his lawyer denies.
He was one of the 238 Venezuelans and 23 Salvadoran, the Trump administration, deported last month, to limit the notorious Salvador (Cecot) Terrorism Center in an agreement between the two countries.
“He is alive and sure of this facility,” added Kozak on Saturday.
An immigration judge provided G -N Garcia, Salvadoran, Legal Protection from Deportation in 2019.
The Trump administration is struggling against helping G -n Garcia to return to the United States and claims that Maryland Paula Sinis’s district judge exceeded her authority when she ordered the claim.
However, the US Supreme Court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, Weighing the case this week and unanimously supported the order to help facilitate its release.
On Friday, Judge Sinis directed the Trump administration to provide her with daily updates on what steps are being taken to return G -n Garcia in the United States.
In court documents, G -n Garcia’s attorneys accused the US government of trying to “slow down, suffocate and file court orders while the life and safety of a man are at risk.”
The 29 -year -old G -n Garcia entered the United States as a teenager from El Salvador. In 2019, he was arrested with three other men in Maryland and detained by federal immigration authorities.
He subsequently received protection against deportation on the grounds that he could be at risk of persecution by local gangs in his home country.
Trump told reporters this week that if the Supreme Court said “return someone, I would.”
“I respect the Supreme Court,” he said.
His meeting with Salvadorian President Naib Bouke is to be held in the White House on Monday.
In a publication on his social platform for the truth, Trump said he was looking forward to it and thanked the bouquet that he had accepted “some of the most common alien enemies in the world” – referring to those who are deported as “barbarians”.
“Their future depends on President B and his government,” Trump said. “They will never threaten or threaten our citizens again!”
