Myanmar authorities have arrested an astrologer for panic, predicting a new earthquake in Tiktok viral video.
John Mo published his forecast on April 9, just two weeks after the magnitude of 7.7 killed 3,500 people and destroyed centuries -old temples in the southeastern Asian nation.
He was arrested on Tuesday for “false statements with the intention of provoking a public panic,” Myanmar Information Ministry said.

A resident of Yangon told AFP that many of her neighbors believe in the forecast. They refused to stay in their homes and camp outside John Mo’s day, the earthquake said would happen.
His already non -existent Tiktok account, which has more than 300,000 followers, claims to make forecasts based on astrology and palmia.
He was arrested during an attack at his home in Saga, Central Myanmar.
The Mandalay and Saging areas were particularly affected by the earthquake on March 28, which sparked a rare request from Myanmar Junta for foreign help.
This earthquake was felt about 1000 km in Bangkok, where a building collapsed on a construction site, killing dozens.
