Mitsubishi in talks to source its new EVs for Australia, New Zealand from Foxconn unit

Mitsubishi Motors is in talks with the Taiwan-based Foxconcan Electric Vehicle Department to source an OM electric car model that plans to sell Japanese Automaker to Australia and New Zealand in the next half of 2026.

Mitsubishi said on Wednesday that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Foxtron Vehicle Technology for EV development and would further discuss to reach an agreement. Foxtron is a joint venture between Foxcon and Taiwan -based Eolon Motor Co, which combines and cars for Nisan.

Mitsubishi and Nissan are also taping them Renalt To increase their EV lineups in North America. Mitsubishi said that it would start selling a rebted version of Nissan Leaf in the second half of North America’s 2026, and Nissan would sell a rebranded plug-in hybrid electric vehicle model built by Mitsubishi in North America next year.

Mitsubishi said that it would also sell rebranded EV models made by Renault in Europe.
