Motown Legend Smokey Robinson has denied allegations of sexual assault made by several former employees.
In a court case brought on TuesdayFour hosts accused the singer of songs on a sexual battery, including rape, plus a fake prison and a number of labor disorders.
In a statement to the BBC, Robinson’s lawyer Christopher Frost called the allegations “Merzo” and “False.”
“As this case progresses, the evidence (the deciding element that guides us) will show that it is just an ugly method of trying to make money from an 85-year-old US icon-$ 50 million to be accurate,” he said.
Robinson was Motown’s first hitmaker, writing the number one hits as Mary Wells ‘My Guy and The Temptations’ My Girl.
He was both a scout of the talent for the recording label and one of his most famous recording artists by themselves, known for songs like songs of my tears, shopping around and tears on a clown.
It has spots both in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and in the halls of Songworters glory and claims that there are loans for more than 4,000 songs.
His second wife, Francis, was also referred to in a court case on Tuesday, claiming that she had contributed to a hostile work environment and failed to stop Robinson’s alleged sexual violation.
Women sue under the pseudonym Jane Dow 1, 2, 3 and 4, for allegations of sexual disorders, including rape that equalized against the musician.
In the trial of 27 pages, they describe in detail several incidents dating back to 2006 and claim to have been pressed into sex.
All four women who are of Spanish origin have said they have not come forward so far because they are afraid to lose their livelihood, family repression or disturbance. Some were concerned that allegations could influence their immigration status.
They are seeking compensation for at least $ 50 million and a trial.
No police reports or criminal accusations have been raised against the musician.
The women’s lawyers held a press conference on Tuesday, accusing Robinson of being a “serial and sick rapist” that “must be stopped”.
This attracted the anger of Robinson’s legal team, who called him a “quirky” attempt to join the public as an undesirable participant in the media circus they are trying to create. “
“We will have something to say in the coming days as we make our legal answer and in time, Robinson will answer with our own words,” said G -n Frost.
“We ask anyone who follows this case to preserve the decision, as the evidence is born and all the actual facts of the case are unfolding.
“We will ask the court to dismiss the case. We will also ask the court to go to this in their statements to the press about G -n -Robinson, the applicant’s lawyers have reached beyond the boundaries of freedoms, which even lawyers are usually allowed in this context.”
