Russia held its annual parade on Victory Day, marking the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany.

Vladimir Putin joined China Jinping for commemorations, with Russia saying that 27 world leaders attended the 80th anniversary.

Security had tightened after a few days of Ukrainian strikes aimed at the capital. Russia has been announced a three -day termination of fire to coincide with the parade that Ukraine rejected as a farce.

It says that Russia has started thousands of attacks since the armistice entered into force, Russia has denied this and has accused Kiev of hundreds of violations.
