Airbnb says users will now be able to book luxury services such as personal coaches, massages and chefs in their revised application as it continues to expand outside its main short -term rental business.
“People choose hotels for their services. People choose Airbnbs for the space … We now give you the best of both worlds,” Brian Crescia’s chief executive director said in a statementS
It comes just weeks after the company signals that reservations can be delayed in the United States as President Trump’s unpredictable commercial policies hit consumers’ moods.
Although hosted more than two billion guests since its launch in 2008, Airbnb has also faced challenges in recent years, with some cities moving to Disable Short BottS
The new Airbnb services will initially be available in 260 cities, with the company saying they will cost from under $ 50 (£ 37.57).
Luxury suggestions, which include spa treatments, photographers and makeup artists, can also be reserved by people who do not remain at Airbnbs.
The updated application of the company also includes the updated experience section, which allows users to book on custom tours and activities. This service was first launched in 2016.
The new hotel -like features reflect the changing needs of tourists, Gary Bowerman, director of the Tourist Marketing Company, told the BBC.
“Travelers now think much more about how to customize the journey for themselves, not just about the actual functional parts of how they get there and where they stay.”
Another feature of the new application is the Originals section, which offers exceptional experiences around the world.
This includes a beach volleyball game in Rio de Janeiro with the Olympic Carol Solberg or spent Sunday with the National Football League superstar Patrick Mahomes.
It may be possible to be part of a broader trend as tourists are looking for out-of-road experiences, said the luxury travel consultant Anastasia Origan.
“There are so many people who have traveled and have done so many things that the standard or purpose for unique experiences are constantly moving.”
