Ulrich Jase Van Vuren made his passion to share and show some of the best features of South Africa with his legion by followers of social media.

The 38-year-old White South African often takes pictures, capturing scenes like cold Johannesburg in the morning, Jakaranda’s purple trees known for Pretoria or the popular Kape Town beach.

“The promotion of South Africa is something I am passionate about – I do not intend to deal with the US proposal Donald Trump) because South Africa is my home,” the proud Africaer told the BBC, days after a small group of his colleagues white compatriots left South Africa in the United States.

The US President and his South Africa -born ally Elon Musk says white Africa are persecuted in their homeland and that they undergo “genocide”.

This is a statement that has been spread for many years, even though it is widely discreditedS

Although some white farmers have been attacked and killed, South Africa has one of the highest percentages of murder in the world, so this is a problem that affects all its citizens, regardless of their race.

“For me, South Africa is at home. This is a place where my roots and heritage are where I can contribute to the history of our nation and make a meaningful impact,” said Janse Van Vuuren, who has more than a million followers on social media.

“I am deeply invested in the success of South Africa and I am proud to be part of his trip.”

And although she wished those who have undertaken Trump’s offer all the best in the US and called for them to “not look back”, he insisted that none of them were refugees, but more recently “opportunists”.

“They have enjoyed more than their share of South Africa’s resources and privileges, and no one is running away from racial persecution,” he said.

Thirty years after the end of the racist system of the apartheid, the average standard of living among the white community in South Africa remains far higher than for the black majority.

Janse Van Vuuren said the African African Africa Debate served only to make it “more decisive than ever to activate and to contribute to South Africa in any way I can.”

Four centuries after the arrival of the first group of Dutch settlers in the present South Africa, most Africars consider themselves to be completely African – as seen in the name – and no longer identify with their European roots.

But many are dissatisfied with both the high percentage of crime and government policies aimed at reducing economic inequality in the country – especially a a The law has been adopted earlier this year This allowed the government to seize the land without compensation “When it is fair and fair and in public interest.” White South Africans are 7% of the country’s population, but have half of their agricultural land.

Some Africa are farmers and see the law as directed at them.

Trump said the legislation had encouraged him to offer to help relocate “African refugees who fled the government -sponsored discrimination based on race.”

The status of white South African farmers has long been a rally on the right and the far right of American politics.

But despite the many allegations in the past about the systematic guidance of the white Africa minority group in the country, the figures of local crimes paint a different picture.

South Africa did not release evidence of crime based on race, but recent data revealed that 6,953 people were killed in the country between October and December 2024. Of these, 12 were killed in farm attacks. Of the 12, he is one farmer, while five are farms inhabitants and four are employees who were probably black.

The first group of 59 Africner refugees eagerly await their new life in the US

On Monday, The first group of 59 Africars provided a refugee status to arrive at Dulles Airport near Washington After they chose to leave their home country.

The arrival of the group caused horror and outrage in South Africa, as civil society and the leadership of the country sought to dispel the allegations that the white minority was being pursued.

“They leave because they do not want to perceive the changes that take place in our country and our constitution,” said South Africa President Cyril Ramafosa.

He later labeled their “cowardly act” move As he appealed to the farmers of a convention held in the province of the free country.

The president’s attitudes were voiced by many South Africans, including Janse Van Vuuren, who is proud of his origin as Africa.

Until he was raised in an agricultural family, he has relatives and friends in agriculture who were victims of crime.

He said that although it is indisputable that some farmers face “real threats and difficulties”, it is important to be cautious “when discussing allegations of persecution or discrimination that present a whole group as victims of purposeful violence or systematic oppression.”

While many white South Africans sound the moods of Janse Van Vuuren, there are also those who see themselves as a pursued minority.

Among them is Ilse Stinkamp, who and her family applied for the program but did not receive feedback. She did not want to use her real name.

D -Ja Steenkamp, 47, and her husband, both African, were commercial farmers, but said they had recently lost their land after she had invaded people who “took over the whole farm” just as they would sell it to “reduce the scale”.

She said they had bought the land two decades ago after the end of the apartheid.

The people who invaded the critical infrastructure, making the sale impossible, she said.

Despite their efforts to remove them through the courts, D -Steenkamp said they were forced to abandon the land as it was back by the bank.

D -Ja Steenkamp said that while she and her family were familiar with the high levels of crime in South Africa and often try to “do not let us set us”, this last attack was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

Although her family was eager to accept Trump’s proposal when it was first announced, the mother of the three told the BBC that the decision to leave “is very difficult because you … leave a whole way of life.”

Asked if it was unjust to receive the African people at a time when the United States is being destroyed by refugees and asylum seekers from anywhere else in the world, D -Ja Steenkamp said “completely disagree.”

She pointed out attacks on farmers, saying that there was “hatred that seems to go with these attacks.”

“Every farmer who has gone through this (type) attack and now wants to run, I think it has to be treated as a refugee because they are running away from a government that will not even admit that these things are happening,” she said.

Africars make up about half of the white community of South Africa

The 60 -year -old Bus himself is another white South African who has applied for the refugee program.

It is the founder of Amerikaners, a platform aimed at providing information to white South Africans who are interested in the US resettlement proposal.

While the Busà, which is in English, not in Africa, origin, and her three sons have submitted their requests, they have not yet been interviewed.

Although it was initially thought that the executive order, unclear in its original formulation, applied only to white Africa, d -Busà stated that “it is obviously aimed at white South Africans.”

On Monday, the US Embassy in South Africa released a statement clarifying the criteria for those applying for resettlement, which said the candidates should be:

  • Of South African nationality
  • Africanman or from a racial minority
  • Able to cite an incident with a past persecution or fear of pursuit in the future

In response to criticism that they were not real refugees, D -Ja Bus said: “When someone undresses your hope for the future, although you are not in Warzone … Someone detaches your dreams and hope for the future, it is very dramatic. It is mental grief and emotional violence in a sense.”

But Dr. Piet Curkp, Assistant Professor of Political Research at Northwestern University in South Africa, does not agree, sounding the view that those who deal with this proposal are not refugees, since “South Africa does not chase people.”

More recently, he speculates that they may be those who have been victims of a crime and “could define their existence as uncertain.”

Dr Croucamp, who is an Africaner, said that although he does not expect a significant number of white South Africans to follow the example, there will always be “opportunistic” people who take advantage of the situation.

“This is a small group of people who leave the bigger part of the African do not go anywhere and they have expressed themselves. They said they didn’t go anywhere. So even within the Africa Rounds, it’s a small group of people, “he said.

Despite their criticism of the government and its race based on the race, the famous Afriforum lobbying groups and the solidarity movement repeated their intention to remain in South Africa.

Afriforum said that while the government is to blame for leaving the group, by providing refugee status, they will remain and continue their “efforts to help create a future for Africari here at the southern end of Africa.”

This is an opinion that Janse Van Vuuren agreed.

“While some can choose to leave as refugees, the greater part of us are here to stay, they work together to build a better future for everyone in South Africa.”
