US President Donald Trump says Iran is “something like” agreed to the terms of a nuclear deal with the United States.
Trump has described the latest negotiations between the two countries that ended on Sunday as “very serious negotiations” for “long -term peace”.
Earlier adviser to Iran’s supreme leader told NBC News that Tehran was ready to make discounts on his nuclear program in exchange for lifting sanctions.
The United States insisted that Iran should scrap the enrichment of uranium in order to prevent the development of the country of nuclear weapons – although Iran insists that its nuclear activities be completely calm.
Speaking on Thursday in Qatar, at the second stop of his multi -day tour of the Gulf, Trump said the deal was close to the nuclear program of Iran and proposed a war on Tehran’s objects to be avoided.
“We will not make nuclear dust in Iran,” Trump said after a meeting in Doha with business leaders.
“I think we are approaching maybe a deal without having to do it.
“You probably read the story of Iran today. It’s kind of agreement with the terms.”
The president did not specify which remarks he was referring to, but adviser to Iran’s supreme leader Ali Hamenei Ali Chamhani said in an interview with media in the United States that Tehran was ready to accept distant curbs of his nuclear program.
Shamhani told ABC News that Iran would abandon the stock of highly enriched uranium as part of a deal in which the United States canceled sanctions.
Recent conversations about Tehran’s nuclear program ended on Sunday, with both sides agreeing to meet again.
The Middle East Middle East to the United States, Steve Vikof, said he was encouraging while Iranian Abbas Aragchi’s Foreign Minister described them as “difficult but useful”.
Trump withdrew from a previous nuclear agreement between Iran and five other global forces in 2018.
Previously, he warned of possible hostilities against Iran’s nuclear facilities, if the fresh set of negotiations began in April failed.
A senior US official said recent discussions continue for more than three hours, adding: “An agreement has been reached to move on with the negotiations to continue working through technical elements.
“We are encouraged by today’s result and expect our next meeting, which will happen in the near future.”
