Chris Brown held in custody for the alleged attack at London nightclub

R&B singer Chris Brown has been arrested after appearing in court, charged with a suspected bottle attack at a nightclub in London.

The American singer was arrested at Lowry Hotel in Salford on Thursday and later accused of the alleged attack, which is said to have happened in the lane in London Mafeer in 2023.

Brown, 36, is said to have used a bottle to cause severe bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw.

The singer was in Manchester before his planned UK tour in June and July, with dates of the City Cooperative Arena live in Manchester and at the Principality of the Principality in Cardiff.

During the hearing, Brown, who wore black bottoms of the tracksuit and a simple T -shirt, spoke to confirm his full name like Christopher Maurice Brown and date of birth.

When he was asked to confirm his address, he said the Lowry Hotel.

District judge Joan Hurst told Brown that the case would be moved to Crown Court Southwark in London, with the next hearing being held on June 13.

She said the nature of the crime of serious bodily harm was too serious to be considered by the court of magistrates.

Brown had to take herself in Amsterdam on June 8 before heading to Germany and then embarks on the UK dates.

Fans gathered outside the Magistrates court in Manchester before hearing.

A fan who lives in Manchester told the BBC that she had canceled her plans so she could spend the day out of court.

The 35 -year -old Kandy said she followed the star from the age of 14, and when he heard the news of his arrest, he could not sleep.

“I’m just here to support it,” she said.

“I love his music, his voice. Even my children are already fans.”
