Microsoft open sources a command-line text editor and more at Build

At its build 2025 conference, Microsoft Open has transmitted several applications and equipment, including a new command-line text editor for Windows.

Open source software cannot earn a direct earning of the company, but it can act as a form of market research – and a funnel of payment applications and services. Microsoft gains valuable knowledge and product suggestions, as well as future guidelines by contributing to the open source community.

Editing, which will be installed in Windows through the Windows Insider program earlier this summer, will allow developers to edit the “editing” command directly to edit the files directly to the command line. Microsoft says the goal is to reduce switching in unnecessary contexts and allow developers to stay in their current stream.
