It’ll soon be free to publish apps to the Microsoft Store

Microsoft is releasing from the developer on boarding fees for the Microsoft Store in Windows Windows on its flagship operating system, the company announced on Monday during its build 2025 conference.

Separate developers from June 2025 will be able to sign up and publish applications in the Microsoft Store without paying any account registration. Previously, Microsoft charged about 19 $ for registration.

Microsoft Store’s application fee waits the fee of the Microsoft rival Apple App Store to face acute legal pressure to remove the specific developer fees. These fees are commissions, however – Apple still pays $ 99 for publishers at the App Store. Meanwhile, Google Android’s App Store charge a one -time $ 25 fee for Google Play.

Microsoft says it will continue to charge developers with Microsoft Store applications that use 12% fees for games and 15% for applications for games. Developers who use their own trade systems keep 100% earning for non-gathering applications.
