German troops constantly sent to the eastern border of Lithuania

Germany made its first permanent deployment of foreign World War II military, sending troops to the eastern flank of Lithuania.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Defense Minister Boris Pistori attended a ceremony to open the deployment of Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauses in the capital of the country Vilnus.

“Peace in Europe is violated. Every day Russia violates the order that we collectively accepted as a lesson of the horrors of World War II,” Mertz said.

Lithuania is bordered by Latvia and Poland, as well as the Russian exclusive Kaliningrad to the west and the ally of Moscow in the east.
