Suspicious sabotage causes the film festival in Cannes

Cannes faced urban energy across the country on Saturday, violating the prestigious film festival and closing restaurants and businesses.

French police are investigating a suspected arson as a reason for the interruption after AA substation in the village of Tanonon, which supplies Cannes, was attacked by arson in the early hours.

Despite the interruption, the Cannes Film Festival managed to use private generators to resume the festival – before Power was restored at 15:00 (14:00 BST).
