Former Austria Chancellor Sebastian Kurtz won his complaint against a sentence to give false testimony to a parliamentary committee.

The court’s ruling rolled over last year’s decision and the eight -month suspended sentence for the former political star.

Once they welcomed the Wunderkind of the conservatives of Europe, the 38-year-old reconciled himself as Chancellor in 2021 and left politics against a series of allegations.

The Monday Election eliminates a key obstacle to a potential political return, but it is still facing an investigation into individual corruption charges.

Last year, Kurtz was found guilty of a false testimony for giving false testimony to a parliamentary committee.

The case against him focused on the allegations that he was involved in the election of leaders of a newly created state -owned holding company when he was a chancellor, unlike he was only informed.

Kurtz told a parliamentary probe in 2020 that he was “involved in the meaning of the informed”. But the first judge in the case considers that the declaration is incorrect and ruled that Kurtz played a more active role.

In his complaint, however, Kurtz claims that the judge who sentenced him was prejudiced.

The appellate bench of three judges excluded in his favor on Monday, reading in his decision that Kurtz was justified, since the objective crime of giving false evidence was not fulfilled. “

Speaking to reporters outside the court on Monday, Kurtz said the years of accusations against him were “now everyone collapsed.”

“There were numerous court hearing – a huge confrontation with these accusations. You are all witnessing how much this has been celebrating and that now everyone has collapsed,” he said.

He also denied unlawful actions on the accusations of corruption for which he was being investigated.

Prosecutors are yet to decide whether to accuse him of alleging that he used public money to pay for a favorable media coverage and to fund polls that exaggerated support for him.

Kurtz has not yet expressed his intention to return to politics.

After giving up in 2021, he has participated in several business ventures, including the high -profile Kibbeswert Dream Company, which he co -founded in 2023 with partners, including the former head of the Israeli NSO company, which developed The A controversial product from Pegasus Spyware.

Previously, Kurtz headed the Austrian Austrian Conservatives People’s Party, leading the party to victories in 2017 and 2019 in a firm immigration position.

The People’s Party still leads to Austria after managing to form a three -playing coalition with the Social Democrats and the Liberal Party after the election last August.

However, this vote was won by the far -right freedom party, which benefits the voters’ dissatisfaction with regard to economy and migration. Although they exceeded the parliamentary elections for the first time, they failed to form the government.
