The Italian Mountain Etna exploded, with a large plum of ashes and smoke from the volcano.
Images and videos from Sicily showed volcanic materials that spill from the volcano on Monday morning.
A number of explosions with an “increase in intensity” were registered in the early hours on Monday morning, said the National Institute of Geophysics and Vulcanology of Italy (Ingv) Etna.
The full scale of the eruption is currently unclear and the destruction seems minimal.
Mount ETNA is one of the most active volcanoes in the world, so eruptions are not uncommon and its outbursts rarely cause significant damage or injuries.
Ground movements show that the last eruption happened on the southeast end of the volcano, according to Ingv. This seems to be a well -known vent at 200 m.
The footage, shared on Monday, shows a fast moving combination of ash, gas and rock – known as a pyroclastic flow – comes out of place and moves down the side of the volcano.
Geologists who are watching the eruption said it is likely that part of a volcano crater will collapse and that this is the material that is worn on its slopes.
The pyrolastic flow can be very dangerous to the surrounding area, but there is no indication of immediate threat.
In his last update, Ingv noted that the volcanic material had not yet passed the Lion Valley, the point of the approach to the summit where the tourist trips stop.
IngvIngv said it first registered changes in the volcano activity at 00:39 local time (22:39 GMT) before clarifying that there was a continuing “Strom” eruption.
The size of Strom eruptions may vary, but is often characterized by periodic explosions that occur due to the presence of gas in the magnitude in the volcano.
When the gas bubbles reach the surface, they can suddenly burst, throwing material into the sky. The process is not different from the release of gas from a carbonated drink.
These types of eruptions can be particularly dangerous for nearby aircraft.
It is reported that the red signal was issued earlier on Monday, probably stopping flights working nearby, but this is later reduced.
The last remarkable eruption of ethnic mounting came in February And it caused Catania’s airport on the island to deflect dozens of flights due to ash clouds.
Tourists were also warned to stay away from the flows from lava on the volcano.
