Ghetto imagesThe death of a 10-year-old rape victim in the Eastern Indian state of Bihar after the alleged delay in medical treatment has caused outrage in the country.
The girl died on Sunday morning at the State Government Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in the capital Patna.
Her uncle claims that the child’s condition had worsened while she was an ambulance for about four o’clock on Saturday before being admitted to the hospital.
PMCH authorities have denied this, saying that allegations of admission are “unfounded”.
The death of the girl was made by national titles, with opposition leaders accused the Bihar government, a coalition led by the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party and Gianna Dahl United (JD) – of gross mismanagement. The government denied all negligence.
The girl is from the Dalit community, who is at the bottom of the Hindu caste hierarchy. Dalits are widespread in India, despite the laws existing for their protection.
Following the outrage, the National Human Rights Committee and the National Women’s Committee criticized the incident and demanded that the role of the hospital be investigated.
Rape casualties cannot be indicated in accordance with Indian law.
Ghetto imagesThe girl was raped on May 26, allegedly by a man who lived near her aunt’s house in Musafarpur. Police arrest the man and investigates the crime.
The girl disappeared as she played outside her house. Later, her family members discovered that she was being injured near the road. Police officers have told reporters that there are several wounds with a knife.
It was first taken to a local hospital, and then to the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), about 85 km (53 miles) from Patna.
Kumari Vibha, the SKMCH chief, told BBC Hindi that the child had several injuries, including breast and neck wounds, but that her condition had stabilized. It was aimed at PMCH as it needed surgery to reconstruct its wind pipe, said G -Ja Vibha.
But in PMCH, the child’s uncle said they were confronted with a delayed acceptance while the child waited in the ambulance.
“They (the staff of the hospital) made us run for four hours from one hospital to another,” he said. She was later accepted into the gynecology department, he said.
The hospital denied the allegations. Is Thakur, a senior employee of the hospital, said that the child’s family initially acknowledged her in the Pediatric Department, but that she was sent to the ear, nose and throat department (ENT) because of her injuries.
“Because we do not have an ICU in ENT, the child was moved to the gynecology department of the ICU of the gynecological department,” he said, adding that the child was brought to an ambulance to support life, which was equipped to offer critical care.
“The allegations of delay in receiving a hospital bed are unfounded,” said G -N -Takur.
Ghetto imagesThe child’s deity began to make news after a viral video showed members of the Opposition Congress Party, arguing with the hospital staff, demanding that it be accepted.
Opposition parties in the country held several protests after death.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the girl’s death was “extremely shameful” and demanded strict action to be taken against negligent officers.
“The rape victim waited for hours outside the PMCH to be admitted … What is the benefit of large buildings that are built in the name of hospitals when there is chaos, corruption, bad behavior, lack of resources and insensitivity everywhere?” The main opposition party of the country Rashtria Jana Dahl said to X.
BJP and JD (U) leaders have denied any negligence. Anamika Singh Patel, a BJP spokesman, called the girl’s death “unhappy.”
“But I am leading a hospital myself and I know that getting a bed in the hospital is a process that takes time. People in our government work responsibly,” she said.
The incident also caught attention to the condition of Bihar’s medical infrastructure months before the State Assembly election was held.
Last month patient at another state hospital in Patna said that the rat bites his finger until he fell asleep. Hospital authorities have begun an investigation into the incident.
On Tuesday, in a terrible editorial entitled “The Shame of Bihar”, the Times of India, pointed out the regretting condition of hospitals in the state. This referred to a recent report This found that only half of all fans in government hospitals were functional and that the Patna capital had only one government physician for 11 541 people. This ratio is much worse in rural areas.
