Israeli military restore two bodies for hostages in southern gas

The Israeli forces have restored the bodies of two Israeli Americans, taken back to Gaza as hostage during an attack led by Hamas against South Israel on October 7, 2023, the Israeli military said.

Judy Weinstein Hagai, a 70 -year -old, who was also a Canadian citizen, and her husband, Gadi Hagai, 72, were killed by artillerymen by the Mujahdin brigades when Kibbut Nir Oz attacked a statement.

Their bodies were found in the region of South Han Einnis in Gaza overnight and returned to Israel for forensic identification.

There are already 56 hostages who are still held by Hamas in Gaza, at least 20 of which are thought to be alive.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he and his wife had sent their condolences to Judy and Gadi Hagai’s families.

“Our hearts are grieving for this terrible loss. Let their memories be blessed,” he added.

“I would like to thank and express gratitude to the fighters and commanders for this decisive and successful operation. We will not rest, nor will we remain silent until we return home all our hostages – alive and the dead.”

The couple’s families recalled how “they went out for a walk in this cursed on Saturday and never returned.”

“We welcome the closure and their return to the right funeral at home, in Israel,” a statement said.

The hostage and missing families forum called on the decision -making persons to do everything possible to agree to a new deal to end the Hamas fire to ensure that all other hostages return.

“You don’t have to wait another 608 agonizing days for this,” a statement said. “The mission can be completed tomorrow morning. This wants the bigger part of the Israeli people.”

Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza in response to an unprecedented cross -border attack almost 20 months ago, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were hostage.

Since then, at least 54 607 people have been killed in Gaza, according to the health ministry in Hamas.
