Eight passengers were injured on a Ryanair flight, which diverted to an airport in southern Germany after experiencing “heavy turbulence” due to bad weather, police said.
Two -year -old wounded on Wednesday night, who suffered bruises and a woman who caused an injury to the head, according to Bavarian police.
Three people were taken to a local hospital for treatment and others were treated on the spot, they said.
Ryanair apologized to the affected passengers. It says that the flight captain – initially planned to go from Berlin to Milan – called forward for medical attention, and the aircraft “landed normally” at Memmingen Airport, west of Munich.
Local police said the weather conditions mean that it was not possible to land at Munich Airport, so the plane was diverted to Memmingen, where it landed “safe and without additional incidents” at 20:44 local time (18:44 GMT).
The flight was not approved by the Southern Aviation Administration of Bavaria on Wednesday night, they said.
Ryanair said he organized an “alternative transport” to Milan tonight, as well as a replacement flight on Thursday morning.
“We sincerely apologize to the passengers affected by this deviation,” the message said.
