Itamar Ben-Gvir and Besal Smotrich will be banned from entering the United Kingdom and will have assets in the United Kingdom, frozen as part of the measures declared by the Foreign Secretary.
David Lamie said the Minister of Finance, I have, and the National Security Minister Ben-Gvir have “stimulated extremist violence and serious abuse of the Palestinian human rights.”
In response, Israel said: “It is outraged that the elected representatives and members of the government are subjected to this type of measures.”
Both I have and Ben-Gvir have been criticized for their position in the Gaza war.
Smoth strives to allow help in Gaza while Ben-Gvir urged the Gazanas to be resettled from the territory.
After announcing the sanctions, Lami said: “These actions are not acceptable. That is why we have taken action now – to hold responsible for reporting.
“We will strive to achieve an immediate cessation of the fire in Gaza, the immediate release of the other hostages from Hamas, who cannot play a future role in the management of Gaza, a jump in the aid and a way to a decision of two countries.”
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon S’ar said the cabinet would meet next week to respond to what he called an “unacceptable solution”.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that “along with Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Norway partners, the United Kingdom is clear that the increasing violence and intimidation of Israeli settlers against the Palestinian communities on the west coast should stop.”
A statement said that the measures taken against the fuss and Ben-Gvir “cannot be seen isolated from events in Gaza, where Israel must comply with international humanitarian law.”
Both ministers belong to the right parties that help to support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s coalition government.
As part of the coalition, the Ben-Gvir Party of Otsma Yehudit (Jewish rule) occupies six places, while the religious Zionism of Smotrich occupies seven places.
I was ticking, speaking when taking office of a new settlement in Hebron Hills, talks about “contempt” about this move of the United Kingdom.
He said, “The UK has already tried to prevent us from arranging the cradle of our homeland and we cannot do it again. We are determined, God wants to continue to build.”
The minister hinted at the period when Britain ruled Palestine and imposed restrictions on Jewish immigration, most significant from the end of the 30s to the end of the 40s.
The possibility of sanctioning these two ministers has long been under development.
In October said Lord Cameron He had planned to penalize the coupleWhen he was an external secretary, as a way to put pressure on Israel.
The United Kingdom’s decision reflects the growing popular and parliamentary pressure to take further action against the Israeli government on its operations in both Gaza and the West coast.
It also comes after a constant escalation of pressure from the United Kingdom and other allies.
Last month, leaders of the UK, France and Canada issued a joint statement, saying that Israel was at risk of breach of international law.
The United Kingdom also interrupted trade negotiations with Israel.
In the municipalities, last month, Lami described the remarks of the troop on the “cleansing” of the Gaza of the Palestinians as “monstrous” and “dangerous” extremism.
By responding to sanctions, the conservative secretary of the Interior Secretary Dam Patel said: “We are clear that the British government must use its influence at any opportunity to ensure that other hostages are released, this help continues to reach those who need and achieve a steady end of the conflict.”
Liberal -democrat leader Sir Davey also welcomed the sanctions, but said it was “disappointing” that the conservative government and labor “took so long to act.”
It has been 20 months since Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza in response to an unprecedented cross -border attack, led by Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others were hostage.
At least 54,927 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the health ministry in the territory.
