The Montchtte suspected of deadly attacks on Minnesota legislators continued on his second day on Sunday, as police expanded the search over the state lines to nearby South Dakota.

State representative Minnesota Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark were shot dead and killed at their home early on Saturday morning.

Another legislator, State Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette, were also shot repeatedly and injured.

Police searched Vance Luther Bolter, a 57-year-old, who they say he introduced himself as a police officer while performing attacks. Federal authorities have announced a $ 50,000 award for information.

Both legislators belonged to the party for Democratic and Farms of Minnesota, which is related to the National Democratic Party.

Senator Hoffman and his wife underwent surgery on Saturday, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz said he was “cautiously optimist, they will survive in this attempt to murder.”

“It is clear that this is politically motivated,” American senator Amy Klobuchar, a Democrat who represents Minnesota, told the NBC News to meet the press on Sunday morning.

Authorities have said they have restored a target list of a vehicle used by a suspect, which, according to messages, contains the names of several democratic politicians who support abortion rights as well as abortion suppliers. The Tina Smith service, the other Minnesota senator in the United States, confirmed to the BBC News that it is on the list.

The Federal Investigation Bureau (FBI) added Boelter to their most sought after list and issued a $ 50,000 award for information leading to his arrest and sentence.

“It’s not really about any of us, we lost this incredible woman, Melissa Hortman,” Klobuchar said. “Today we think about her family.”

“I just want everyone in the world political world to know this woman, as we know her in Minnesota. Loved by Democrats and Republicans,” Klobuchar said.

President Donald Trump is aware of the situation, but it was unclear whether he would contact the state’s leadership about the attack.

Governor Walz, Democrat, was Kamala President Harris, managing partner of the 2024 election partner.

Despite the fierce demand throughout the region, the city of Brooklyn Park, where Hortman lived, was still silent on Sunday morning when the neighborhood reconciled with the deadly attack.

A police car stood alert in front of Hortman’s house, and the bright yellow caution was surrounding the home, now an active crime scene.

Taha Abuisnine, who lives on the other side of the street, said he and his wife had known Hortmans for more than 20 years.

“They were very pleasant neighbors in a very quiet neighborhood,” he told the BBC. “You don’t see police activity in this neighborhood. We’re very shocked.”

The other two residents nearby, who did not want to be baptized, said that this suburban community was trying as news about the attack.

“My neighbor in the neighborhood heard the photos,” one said. “We’ve all sent text messages back -back.”

She and her husband described her how they received an annual Christmas card from Hortmans – and told how the representative Hortman gets along with local Republican politicians.

“What a big loss for Minnesota,” she said.
