Virginia’s police find an alligator outside a motel

The Fairfax County Police Department, located in the state of Virginia in the US, replied to a call, who announced that he had seen an alligator early on Monday morning.

The reptile was outside a motel just 20 minutes south of Washington.

Police have told the BBC that they have determined that the owner has transported the alligator from New York to the North Carolina Zoo when he escaped.

Due to the Virginia Code, which prohibits the possession of some non -powerful, exotic animals, the alligator and its owner were escorted outside the county, staff said.
