The Chinese military called the recent Passage of the British warship through the Taiwanese Strait of a destructive act of “deliberate provocation”, which “undermines peace and stability”.

The British Royal Navy says HMS Spey’s patrol on Wednesday was part of a long planned deployment and was in line with international law.

The patrol – the first of the British naval ship in four years – comes when the group of strikes of the United Kingdom arrives in the deployment region, which will last for several months.

China considers its territory – the claim that the self -governed Taiwan rejects – and has not ruled out the use of force to “unite” the island.

China criticized the United Kingdom for “public hipping” of HMS Spey’s journey and said the UK’s allegations were “a distortion of legal principles and an attempt to mislead the public.”

“Such actions are deliberate provocations that violate the situation and undermine peace and stability in the Taiwanese Strait.”

He added that he had observed HMS Spey throughout his journey in the Strait, and Chinese troops “will contradict all threats and provocations.”

Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry praised the patrol as an act that protects the freedom of navigation in the Taiwanese Strait.

While US warships regularly conduct freedom of navigation in the Strait, the last time such a journey was carried out by a British naval ship was in 2021 when HMS Richmond was located in Vietnam.

This transit was similarly condemned by China, who sent troops to monitor the ship.

HMS Spey is one of the two British warships permanently on the Indo-Ocean patrol.

His passing through Taiwan’s Strait comes as a British United Kingdom strike group, led by HMS Prince of Wales aircraft carrier, arrives in the Indo-Pacific region for an eight-month stay.

British Prime Minister Kyar Starmer has identified it as one of the largest implementation of the carrier in this century, which is aimed at “sending a clear message for the power of our opponents and a message of unity and purpose of our allies.”

About 4,000 United Kingdom military officials are involved in deployment.

The group will engage with 30 countries through military operations and visits and perform exercises with the US, India, Singapore and Malaysia.

The tension between China and Taiwan has intensified in the last year, since Taiwanese President Lai Ching, who has champion a hard anti-be-bejing position, took office.

He characterizes Beijing as a “foreign hostile power” and introduces policies aimed at Chinese influence operations in Taiwan.

Meanwhile, China continues to conduct frequent military exercises in the Taiwanese Strait, including live exercise in April, that he claims that simulated strikes at key ports and energy facilities.

China’s latest criticism of HMS Spey transit is coming as two Chinese aircraft carriers conduct an unprecedented simultaneous simplicity of the Pacific outside the Waters of Japan, Who is anxious tokio.
