The US Court of Appeal has ruled that President Donald Trump may retain control of the National Guard troops, which he deployed in Los Angeles, despite the objections of city leaders and California Gavin Newpom governor.

Trump unfolded troops in response to widespread protests against his immigration repression. Local employees called it unnecessary provocation.

On Thursday, a three -court committee said it was within the framework of its rights to order the troops to “protect the federal staff … (s) property”. Trump called it “Big Victory”.

The decision suspends a judge’s judge’s decision, which found Trump to act illegally when he mobilized the troops.

In this worse decision, Judge Charles Braire said Trump “does not”, determined by the Congress to deploy the National Guard of the State.

“His actions were illegal … Therefore, he must return control of the National Guard of California to the Governor of the State California immediately,” he wrote in his decision.

However, the judge remained the order until June 13 to give Trump administration time to appeal, which he did almost immediately after.

The unanimous decision on Thursday stated that “Trump’s inability to issue the federalization order directly” through the “Governor of California, it does not limit its otherwise legal body to call the National Guard.”

“This is much more than Gavin (Newsom), since in the US, if our cities and our people need protection, we are the ones to give them, they have to say that the local police cannot for some reason do the job,” Trump wrote in social media after the decision.

He also greeted the court and added, “America is proud of you tonight!”

However, the decision of 38 pages said that the judges did not agree with the president in the merits of the legitimate challenge against his use of the National Guard. It states that his decision to use troops is not “completely isolated from a court review.”

NEWSOM responded to the decision, stating that the court “correctly rejected Trump’s claim that he could do whatever he wanted with the National Guard and did not have to be explained to court.

“We will not allow this authoritarian use of military soldiers against citizens to remain unverified,” he wrote to X, adding: “Donald Trump is not a king, not above the law.”

The court’s decision allows the prolonged deployment of about 4,000 soldiers in Los Angeles. The Trump administration says they protect federal immigration agents and federal property during attacks.

It states that the National Guard of California is to restore order and protection of immigration and customs law enforcement agents (ICE), while they are attacking Los Angeles to detain the people they think are illegal in the country.

Trump also ordered 700 Marines in the city, despite Newsom’s objections.

The National Guard was last unfolded by a president without the consent of the governor during the civil rights era more than 50 years ago.
