The head of a controversial US and Israel’s help group defended their work after repeated cases of murder and injuries to Palestinians seeking help.
The head of the Humanitarian Foundation GAZA (GHF), Johnny Moore, told Newshour at the BBC World Service that it did not deny the death near places of help, but said “100% of these victims are attributed to GHF” and this is not “not true”.
He accused the UN and other international organizations of disseminating information they could not verify.
Thehe GHF assistance system has been convicted by UN agenciesAnd on Friday, UN Secretary -General Antonio Guterres marks him “inherently dangerous.”
“Any operation that channels desperate civilians in militarized areas is inherently dangerous. Food demand should never be a death sentence,” the UN chief said.
Hamas Health Ministry in Gaza says more than 500 Palestinians were killed and 4,000 were injured to get help as GHF took the aid distribution.
Within days of GHF operations beginning in late May, dozens of Palestinians were killed in separate incidents on June 1 and 3, causing international condemnation.
Since then, the UN groups and the aid have expressed anxiety in almost daily reports that the Palestinians were killed near GHF sites, which are in the Israeli military zones.
Eyewitnesses and medics have repeatedly described the Israeli forces opening fire on crowds near help points.
The Israeli Haaretz newspaper published a story on Friday, in which unnamed IDF soldiers said they were ordered to shoot unarmed civilians near the distribution sites to expel or scattered them.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has flatly rejected the report, calling the claims “malicious lies.”
In a statement to the BBC, the IDF said it did not instruct the forces for deliberate civilian shooting, including those approaching the distribution centers. “
He added that he seeks to improve the “operative reaction” in the areas of help and recently added new fences and signs and opened new routes to reach the area.
For its part, the GHF leader said that “100% of the victims are attributed to IDF – as well as we can say that this is not true either.”
In the last month statements, IDF several times said they had fired “warning photos” to persons who described as “suspects” or claim to be a threat.
“We spend an extended period of time trying to understand what actually happened if something actually happened and whether there is a way we can do less likely to happen,” said G -n Moore.
“In most circumstances, we were unable to identify something that was happening.”
“People need to understand that it is misinformation, that people who go to GHF sites are killing, we have no evidence of what is happening near our sites,” he added.
Israel does not allow international news organizations, including the BBC, to send journalists to Gaza, which limits our ability to check what is happening on the spot on the territory.
Moore claims that before GHF operations, the bigger part of the UN assistance trucks were abducted in firing.
The UN said there was no evidence of a large -scale abduction of his trucks for help. When he said this, D -n Moore said the UN was not honest.
The volume of help entering the gas is still considered inadequateAlthough Israel last month partially relieves an 11-week blockade introduced in March. Experts warned that the territory remained on the verge of hunger.
GHF hopes to reach a cornerstone to provide 50 million meals in the gas, which would be equal to less than eating a day per person from the beginning of operations.
When the food really reaches the people who most need it, Moore admitted that the operation was “insufficient”, but said 50 million meals were more than it was a month ago.
He said GHF has to scathing and hope to work with organizations like the UN.
“The mission is clear. We just want to feed the gas,” he added.
On Thursday, the US State Department announced $ 30 million (£ 22 million; € 26 million) funding for GHF, which is its first known direct contribution to the group.
The Israeli military launched a campaign in Gaza in response to the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023 against Israel, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 others were taken hostage.
More than 56,000 people have been killed in Gaza ever since, according to the health ministry in the territory.
