At least four people were killed and 14 others were injured when driving off a nightclub in Chicago, police said.
Chicago police said a dark -colored car was passing the club around 11:00 pm local time (04:00 GMT) on Wednesday when the artillerymen inside the vehicle opened a fire in a crowd of people outside.
The crowd is said to leave the nightclub after a party to release rapper Melo Bucks, the US partner of the BBC, CBS News reported.
Police said the vehicle had escaped immediately to the scene and no one was removed.
The victims of the shooting were taken to several different hospitals in the area. Two men, aged 24 and 25, and two women, aged 26 and 27, have been declared dead, police said.
It is reported that at least four people taken to hospital are in a critical condition for serious condition. The identity of the victims has not yet been released.
Eyewitnesses Donovan Price said there were scenes of “absolute chaos”, unlike him, which he has ever seen so far.
“From people who scream to blood on the streets, to the people lying on the streets … horrifying,” he told Reuters.
“This is something you wouldn’t expect to find in the city. We have a lot of firing, but nothing like that.”
After the incident, the rapper Melo Buck said that all he could do was “talk to God and pray.”
In a statement on social media, she said, “Prayers for all my sisters God, please wrap your hands around every last of them.”
“Feeling that everything was just weighed on me,” she added.
