An American teenager has been detained on Antarctica, creating a great delay in trying to fly his small aircraft on every continent, followed by more than a million people.
The Chilean authorities stopped at 19 Ethan Goo after he presented a false flight plan, according to BBC News CBS News.
His deviation from this plan in the air had “activated warning protocols,” the Chile Directorate Directorate for Civil Aeronautics said in a statement.
G -n Guo was taken after landing on King George Island, home to a number of international research stations and their staff, where the temperatures of July usually remain a lot under freezing.
The small plane of G -H Guo 182 flew from the town of Punta Arenas, near Chile’s worst point, and flew to the island off the Atlantic coast, which is alleged by Chile. He was named after the King of England George III.
He was detained at Teniente R. Marsh Airport.
G -n Guo is said to have presented a plan for flying over Punta Arenas, but not beyond, according to regional prosecutor Christian Christos Rifo, quoted by CBS.
He has been charged with violating two articles from the country’s aeronautical code, including one that can lead to a short -term prison.
In the statement, the General Directorate of Chile’s Civil Aeronautics stated that G -n Goo also violated the Antarctic Treaty, which regulates international relations with regard to the uninhabited continent.
G -n Guo posted an update on X on Wednesday, saying, “I’m alive to everyone, I’ll make an update soon.”
Ethan Goo has flew his plane to all the other six continents in his trip, spanning more than 140 days, according to his social media issue.
He hopes to become the first pilot to make stand -alone flights throughout the seven continents of the Cessna aircraft and at the same time aims to raise $ 1 million (£ 731,000) to study cancer at St. Jude Children’s Study Hospital.
