Police in Pakistan arrested the owners of a pet who attacked a woman and her three young children after escaping.

The dramatic CCTV footage from the eastern city of Lahor showed the big cat skipping a concrete wall and chased away the woman as the horrified viewers ran for safety.

The woman and her children, aged five and seven, received injuries to their hands and faces, but are now in stable condition, authorities said.

Police have accused the owners of the lion for holding a wild animal without a license and negligence leading to its escape. The lion is captured and moved to a wildlife park.

Big cats as pets are a statutory symbol in Pakistan, where it is legal to maintain lions, cheetahs, tigers, cougars and jaguars after registering them and paying a one -time fee of 50,000 rupees ($ 176; 129 £) per animal.
