Israel’s Defense Minister says he has instructed his military to prepare a plan to move all Palestinians to Gaza to a camp in southern territory, according to reports of Israeli media.

Israel Katz told reporters on Monday that he wanted to create a “humanitarian city” of the ruins of the city of Rafa to initially accommodate about 600,000 Palestinians – and in the end the entire 2.1 million population.

He said the goal is to introduce people inside after a security check to ensure that they are not Hamas’s operatives and that they will not be allowed to leave.

If the conditions are allowed, he added, the construction will start during the 60-day termination of the fire that Israel and Hamas are trying to negotiate.

One of the Israeli human rights lawyer condemned him as nothing less than a “operational plan for a crime against humanity.”

“Everything is related to the transfer of the population to the southern end of the Gaza Strip, preparing for deportation outside the tape,” ” Michael Sfard told Guardian newspaperS

The UN had previously warned that the deportation or forced transfer of the civilian population to an occupied territory was strictly prohibited under international humanitarian law and “equivalent to ethnic cleansing”.

There was no immediate comment from the Palestinian Organ or Hamas.

Later on Monday, during a White House meeting, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about the proposal of US President Donald Trump that the US was taking a post-war gas and constantly displaced his population elsewhere.

Netanyahu said, “I think President Trump has a brilliant vision. It is called free choice. If people want to stay, they can stay, but if they want to leave, they must be able to leave …

“We work a lot with the United States to find countries that will strive to realize what they always say – that they want to give the Palestinians a better future.”

Trump said: “We had great cooperation from … the surrounding countries, great cooperation from each of them. So, something good will happen.”

In March, the Arab countries supported the Egyptian alternative to $ 53 billion (39 billion British pounds) an alternative to Trump’s plan for Gaza’s reconstruction, which would allow the Palestinians to live there.

They also emphasized their “categorical rejection of any form of displacement of the Palestinian people,” describing such an idea as “a gross violation of international law, a crime against humanity and ethnic cleansing.”

The Palestinian power and Hamas also approved the Egyptian plan, but the US and Israel said they were unable to cope with Gaza’s realities.

The Palestinians are afraid of the recurrence of Nakba, the Arabic word for “disaster” – when hundreds of thousands fled or were expelled from their homes before and during the war that followed the creation of the State of Israel in 1948.

Many of these refugees found themselves in Gaza, where they and their descendants make up three -quarters of the population. Another 900,000 registered refugees live on the occupied West Coast, while 3.4 million others live in Jordan, Syria and Lebanon, according to the UN.

The Israeli military launched a campaign to destroy Hamas in response to an unprecedented cross -border attack on October 7, 2023, which killed about 1,200 people and 251 were taken hostage.

More than 57,500 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the health ministry in Hamas.

The greater part of the gas population has also been replaced repeatedly. More than 90% of homes are estimated to be damaged or destroyed; Health, water, sanitary and hygiene systems have collapsed; And there is a shortage of food, fuel, medicine and shelter.
